Have you ever wondered what it’s like to photograph newborn twins? I’m thrilled to share my recent session with two little sweethearts—twin boys—at my cozy home studio in Tsawwassen. It was my first time photographing twins, and I truly hope it won’t be my last. What an incredible experience! Yes, I’ll admit, it was a bit of a challenge (times two!), but the rewards? Oh, they were double the love.
A Session Full of Love…and Tiny Outfits!
From the moment Mom walked through the door with these precious boys, I just knew the session was going to be special. She had brought the most adorable little outfits for them, and my heart melted seeing the two of them matching side by side. (What’s cuter than twin newborn outfits?) We captured them snugly swaddled together, and the way they already seemed so bonded was absolutely heartwarming. Imagine being able to grow up with your best friend right by your side!
And how could I forget their furry sibling? Yes, their sweet little dog made a cameo in a few of the shots! I’m a firm believer that pets are family too, and this pup was so gentle and curious during the session. Including the dog in the photos really told the story of their growing family and how much love already surrounds these two little guys.
Personal Touches That Made the Session Extra Special
Mom had thought of everything for this session, from sentimental props to personalized touches. One of my favorite moments was incorporating her passion for tennis into the photos. That’s right—tiny tennis rackets! We worked them into one of the very last shots, and the result? Simply adorable (and such a sweet nod to this family’s personality). I love when parents bring personal items or hobbies into a shoot—it makes the images so unique and meaningful.
Another standout moment was using a set of stunning personalized blankets from Adorne Keepsake. These were so gorgeous, featuring each boy’s name stitched into the soft, cozy fabric. The blankets not only added a beautiful detail to the shoot, but they also helped us tell the twins apart—definitely helpful when working with two identical little bundles of joy!
A Home Studio Vibe in Tsawwassen
Photographing newborns is such an intimate experience, and I love being able to offer that in the comfort of my home studio here in Tsawwassen. It’s a warm, inviting space designed specifically for families to relax during their shoot. Newborn sessions can sometimes take a few hours, so I make sure there’s plenty of time for feeding, cuddling, or a quick nap in between shots. The atmosphere is always calm, allowing me to capture those serene, sleepy moments we all adore in newborn photography.
Why I Love Shooting Twins (and Families Like This One!)
This session with the twins reminded me just how special a photography session can be—especially when it’s about celebrating not one but two new little lives. Every pose, every giggle (or hiccup!), every little stretch was a reminder that these moments are fleeting. I’m incredibly honored to help families document them in a way they’ll cherish forever.
To the amazing mom (and pet-parent!) who entrusted me with this session—thank you for sharing your beautiful family with me. You made my first twin shoot unforgettable, and I hope these photos bring a smile to your face every time you look at them.
